As the founder of Plainsong Music Services—one of Indiana’s largest private music therapy practices—Kirby leads a team of over 20 professionals serving hundreds of clients each week across the state.
With a Master’s in Music Therapy and more than a decade of experience in clinical practice, supervision, and business development, Kirby has built a reputation for her ability to unite people around shared purpose. Her leadership style is defined by authenticity, strategic vision, and a genuine investment in people—qualities that have helped Plainsong grow from a solo practice into a statewide leader in the field.
Beyond her work in private practice, Kirby serves on multiple boards and advisory committees where she brings her expertise in program design, legislative advocacy, and organizational growth. As co-founder of the Music Therapy Access Coalition (MTAC), she works to ensure that providers and families have a voice in state-level decisions that shape the future of care access in Indiana.

Allison Thomas is a Board-Certified Music Therapist and the founder of Mainstay Music Therapy, one of Indiana’s largest private practices, employing over 20 music therapists and serving clients across half the state. With more than 15 years of experience in clinical practice, business leadership, and consulting, Allison has built an organization recognized for its innovation, collaboration, and client-centered approach.
Holding a Master of Business Administration, she brings a rare and valuable perspective to the intersection of therapy, business operations, and policy—allowing her to see the broader systems at play and make strategic decisions that have helped Mainstay thrive and create lasting impact.
